Job Title Matching

No one person describes their job the same and often, job titles themselves are means of expression for a worker. For the job titles that happen to be overly clever and cheeky, this application uses machine learning to match them to standardized names that fit more traditional organizational hierarchy. Human resources can rejoice as large numbers of titles can be normalized and filtered with higher accuracy than possible using the original job titles.

Simply type in a job title, select the number of matches, and apply a matching method. Distance matching takes the original job titles and compares it against the other positions in search of the standardized title with the most corresponding word matches. Descriptive matching is a model based approach that looks at the relationship between the words in the original job title and how those words have been used to describe the standardized titles creating a robust heuristic that can outperform distance based matching when encountering uncommon entries.
